Environmental affaris Specialist
Essential Functions: ? Obtain and maintain environmental permits, particularly dealing with RCRA. ? Ensure that all environmental reports are prepared and submitted as required. ? Conduct all written and verbal communications and notifications with environmental regulators. ? Interact with other departments to ensure sufficient understanding of environmental requirements ? Perform required environmental assessments and records of consideration under NEPA for new projects. ? Respond to accidental spills, emergencies, and clean ups to ensure environmental compliance. ? Assist with coordination of environmental sampling. ? Maintain environmental records and files. ? Seek pollution prevention solutions. ? Stay current and knowledgeable with proposed, pending and upcoming regulations regarding all aspects of environmental compliance.

The successful candidate must have the ability to read, interpret, and evaluate implications of environmental regulations on installation activities. The candidate must be able to interpret maps and drawings of the facility. Candidates must have excellent computer skills as well as excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Education and Experience Required is a Bachelor?s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field; 3 years experience in Federal, State, or Industrial environmental offices
