Primary purpose is to support BAE Systems Land & Armaments in winning new business in Canada with products, technologies, and services. Also supports the BAE Systems Land & Armaments lines of business in formulating strategy for selling products and developing the Canadian industrial base. Position reports to VP ? Regional Exports and Sales. This position will be based in Ottawa
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Works in partnership with L&A Lines of Business, BAE Systems VP Regional Exports and Group Business Development to develop a successful strategy for L&A products, technologies, and services to include land systems, naval products, ammunitions and support services.
Provides campaign support to L&A Lines of Business to develop and capture new business opportunities to include campaign analysis, deconfliction and leveraging of shared resources.
Works with Group Business Development Ottawa Office and VP, Regional Exports to devise an operating model for L&A within Canada including a strategy and method of working together going forward.
Pursues and develops network of contacts in senior military and government organizations, Naval and Land Forces and related defense industry.
Works with L&A Director, Industrial Cooperation and Lines of Business to develop industrialization strategy for products and services.
Ability to network with Senior Defense Ministry and industry executives including Army and Capability Development personnel through the ranks of Colonel to Brigadier.
Strong working knowledge of L&A products, technologies, and services in each of the global L&A Lines of Business.
Demonstrated ability to team and partner with customers in a demanding commercial environment.
Demonstrated ability to forge and build internal alliances and partnerships across functional and organizational boundaries and have a mature approach to decision-making to include the ability to consider the internal stakeholders needs and balancing the needs of L&A with the needs of "Corporate citizenship" for BAE Systems.
Ability to work with the Canadian Business Development community to gain understanding of customer's perspective and requirements in order to develop novel solutions for the Canadian land and naval forces built upon the company's global experiences.
Hands on experience in support of sales and developing integrated marketing solutions.
A self-starter with the ability to work in small teams.
International business experience.
A relationship with or previous exposure to Canadian defense business.
