Plans, organizes, directs and controls the accounting and control function of the division, reports operational results and provides chronological systems.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for all financial aspects of the Platform Survivability Ohio (~600M Rev) and Florida (~$60M Rev) sites. Responsible for sites ability to adhere to the Financial Accounting Policies (FAP) and Financial Policy Manual (FPM) in accordance with the Operational Framework Responsible for rolling out and maintaining the Financial Controls Framework (FCF) Familiar with International Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Responsible for dealings with the internal and external audit functions; resolving issues and discrepancies Responsible for the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Insurance, Taxes, General Accounting, and Fixed Asset functions of the business. Responsible for the Monthly Closing process and timetable adherence. Forecasts short-range and long-range cash requirements and obligations, as a basis for maintaining adequate funds Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing, and ensuring proper insurance coverage Monitors credit and collection applications. Approves terms above a predetermined dollar amount Provides other company units with related information required by them to carry out their assigned responsibilities Establishes and implements a sound operational and organizational plan in direct support of the business plan Executes cash disbursements for payment of corporate and divisional expenditures in accordance with disbursements and policies Monitors inventory levels and advises management regarding variances to budget Develops and recommends budget. Authorizes expenditures in accordance with budget. Approves budget and expenses of subordinates Ensures optimum performance of the function. Recommends and implements techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state of the art practices Keeps abreast of current trend and practices in field of expertise. Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed Ensure compliance with federal and state laws Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Relevant Bachelor degree or equivalent plus additional 13 years relevant experience; or relevant Master degree plus 11 years experience.
Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with 3-5 years recent experience as a controller with responsibility for accounts, budgeting, cost accounting, credit and finance.
BASIC SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Experience gained through continuously advancing responsible in management positions within the finance/accounting areas Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in all aspects of accounting paperwork Ability to convey a positive and professional image Knowledge of payroll related practices including taxes and withholdings, required Solid interpersonal skills
PREFERENCES: CPA strongly preferred.
