Candidate will serve as an Engineering Technologist in support of an Indepdent Verification and Validation activity. In this capacity, the successful candidate will conduct systems testing and analysis in support of moderately complex technological or programmatic systems. Support activities could include integration, test and evaluation, development, procurement and operations.
Analysis targets include both Windows and Unix-based software applications, networking protocols, communications hardware as well as a variety of host platform environments in support of data communications capabilities.
Duties include:
- Building servers and PCs
- Router and switch configuration
- Installation of of fiber or Cat5 cabling and computer network creation
- Network sniffer operation
- Verification of communications capabilities
- Documenting test activities and test results and other test bed related duties as assigned
The person selected for this position must have the following:
- Current Top Security security clearance with SCI eligibility
- A minimum of a HS diploma with 15 years related experience OR an Associate's degree with 13 years experience OR a Bachelor's degree with 11 years experience OR a Master's degree with 9 years experience OR a PHD with 7 years experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in the configuration and use of Windows and Unix operating systems
- Working knowledge of server, desktop and laptop computer hardware
- Experience in the analysis and documentation of various operating systems and software platforms including Microsoft Windows, Windows Server, Unix and Oracle
- Working knowledge of data communications hardware, software and test equipment
- Experience in managing and configuring small to medium networks and LANs
- Experience in a component and system test capacity
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
The person selected for this position is preferred to have the following:
- Previous experience in bench and field test environments
- Previous experience in a formal verification and validation capacity
